Standing Tall for the Sanctuary: PRUNE Tree Care Helps Keep Our Cats Safe

If you visited the Sanctuary recently, you might’ve noticed something different: clearer skies, trimmed branches—and some very curious cats watching intently from below.
That’s thanks to PRUNE Tree Care Experts, who came out this past week to remove overgrown limbs and branches growing up through the fencing on top of the Sanctuary. Their work not only cleaned up the space—it reduced hazards that could have led to injury or damage (and yes, the cats were extremely invested in supervising the job).
But the work isn’t done yet.
There’s still one major concern: a towering, hollow old tree that looms dangerously over the Sanctuary and privacy fence. Even without a storm, it could fall at any time—and when it does, the consequences could be devastating for the structures and the animals inside.
That’s why PRUNE is coming back to remove the tree entirely—a critical job we’re grateful to have experts handling with care and urgency. The cost of the removal is $1,600—a fair rate for such skilled and potentially hazardous work, but also an unexpected expense we weren’t prepared for.
If you’re in a position to help, even a little, we would be so deeply grateful.

We want to thank James and Steve from PRUNE for their professionalism, their kindness, and their care for the animals we love so much. They didn’t just show up—they stepped up.
If you’re looking for a trusted, fully insured tree service provider—whether for trimming, removals, or seasonal maintenance—we highly recommend them. PRUNE is certified, experienced, and a proud member of the Marion Area Chamber of Commerce. They offer free estimates, and their work speaks for itself.
Because sometimes, caring for animals starts with caring for the trees above them.
