A Series of Updates: What’s Been Happening at Homeless to Home

Over the past few weeks, there has been a lot happening at Homeless to Home Animal Rescue & Cat Sanctuary.

Some of it we’ve shared. Some of it we haven’t had the chance to yet. And some moments simply deserved more space than a single post.

So instead of letting those updates get lost, we’re bringing them together here — because every story, every step forward, and every act of support matters.

A Sweet and Successful Kitten Shower

One of the highlights was our recent Kitten Shower and Foster Recruitment event, hosted by YummY Treats Candy & MORE.

It was a day centered around education, connection, and community — with a few tiny kittens stealing the spotlight along the way.

Fosters Tina and Nicole were on hand demonstrating bottle feeding and kitten care, giving attendees a real look at what it takes to care for the most vulnerable animals we take in.

And the impact was immediate.

A mother cat and her four kittens went home with Cindy to foster, giving them a safe place to grow, heal, and thrive.

Strengthening Our Foster Network

Behind the scenes, something just as important was happening.

Heather, one of our incredibly dedicated fosters from Gahanna, stepped in to help organize the Homeless to Home foster network. She worked to group fosters based on:

  • Preferred age ranges

  • Experience levels

  • Availability

She also created communication groups to make it easier for fosters to connect, ask questions, and support one another.

This kind of structure doesn’t just make things easier — it makes rescue work more sustainable.

A Massive Step Forward for Our Cats

This past week also marked a huge milestone for the rescue.

With the help of 4 Leaf Rover and the team at The Animal Medical Center of Ontario, 51 cats were spayed, neutered, and fully vetted — all in a single coordinated effort.

These cats are now able to safely:

  • Free roam within the rescue

  • Be available for adoption

  • Transition into sanctuary placement

Moments like this are worth celebrating. Watching them explore new surroundings, meet new friends, and settle into safer, healthier lives is something we never take for granted.

The People Behind the Work

This kind of effort doesn’t happen without an incredible team.

We want to extend our gratitude to:

  • Allison and Christina, who traveled from Columbus to help transport cats and assist throughout the process

  • The team at 4 Leaf Rover, who returned for a second year to help us catch up on spay and neuter needs

  • Dr. Burkhart, Dr. Gulker, and the staff at The Animal Medical Center of Ontario, whose commitment to animal welfare goes far beyond our local community

This same team travels to places like The Turks and Caicos Islands, where veterinary care is limited or unavailable, spending their time treating sick and injured animals, spaying and neutering, and even feeding abandoned animals in the evenings.

And yet, they still made time to come here and support our rescue.

That kind of dedication is something truly special.

A Simple Way to Help — All Month Long

Our partnership with YummY Treats Candy & MORE didn’t stop when the event ended.

For the entire month of March, they are doing something incredibly unique:

They are donating their Facebook page revenue directly to Homeless to Home to help support animals during kitten season.

And the best part?

You don’t have to spend money to help. You simply have to engage.

Here’s how you can make a difference:

  • Follow their page

  • Like and react to posts• Comment and share

  • Watch and interact with videos and photos

Every interaction helps generate revenue that goes directly toward caring for animals in need.

Their page is active daily, so the more consistently you engage, the more impact you help create.

Why These Updates Matter

It’s easy to see rescue work as just the big moments — the adoptions, the events, the success stories.

But what makes all of it possible are the smaller pieces:

The fosters who step in

The businesses who partner

The volunteers who show up

The teams who provide medical care

The community that continues to engage

Each of these updates is a reminder that this work is not done alone.

More Updates Are Coming

This is just the beginning of a series of updates we’ll be sharing.

There is more happening — more stories, more opportunities, and more ways to get involved — and we’re excited to continue bringing those to you.
