Celebrating a True Hero: Mark’s Big Milestone!

ree

We're celebrating something truly special—our beloved Mark has completed his final cancer treatment!

Mark has been a pillar of strength, love, and dedication at Homeless to Home since he began volunteering with us in July 2018. After partially retiring from his 25-year career at McDaniel Automotive as an Administrative Assistant, Mark threw his heart into the rescue. He’s been here day after day, often working 12-hour shifts—cleaning, caring for the cats, training new staff, repairing and maintaining the facility, improving our procedures, and donating to meet countless needs.

Even during his cancer treatments, Mark's commitment never wavered. On days he felt up to it, he would still stop by to lend a hand, fix something, or simply check in on the cats he loves so much.

Mark is also vital to organizing our annual golf outing in Columbus, which is the rescue’s largest fundraiser of the year. Beyond all of that, he’s given loving homes to many of our rescue cats—and even strays from his own neighborhood. His heart for animals and the people around him has made an unforgettable mark (pun intended!) on this rescue and everyone who knows him.

We’re deeply grateful to Lisa Knipp as well, who helped care for Mark and his cats while balancing her own work, home, and furry family during his treatment.

The rescue simply isn’t the same without him, and we are overjoyed to know he'll be back with us again soon. Mark, we love you—and we are so proud of you! 💝

Thank you to everyone who prayed for him, supported him, and cheered him on. This milestone is a victory for all of us—but most of all, it's a victory for a man whose heart has changed hundreds of lives, both human and animal alike.
