From Accounting to Adoption: Steve’s Big Promotion

Every office has that one unforgettable coworker — the one everyone gravitates toward, who seems to brighten even the dullest day. At Homeless to Home, that was Steve.

Known affectionately as Steve from Accounting (thanks to his fluffy “toupee”), Steve had a knack for engaging visitors without even trying. People were simply drawn to him. His calm presence, quiet charm, and soulful eyes made him one of those cats you just couldn’t pass by.

So when the news broke on September 23, it spread like wildfire around the “office”: Steve has been adopted! After a long career of greeting volunteers and visitors, Steve has decided to leave the rescue “corporate world” for private practice — settling into a forever home with adopters Matt and Crystal. And as if one new hire weren’t enough, our sweet Dumpling tagged along too, ready to “intern” in the household alongside Steve.
The joy here at Homeless to Home is hard to put into words. Adoptions like Steve’s and Dumpling’s are why we do what we do. Not only do they give beloved cats a chance at the love and comfort they deserve, but they also open space for the next animals in need of safety and care.
We’ll miss our beloved office cat, but we couldn’t be happier for him.

Congratulations, Steve and Dumpling — and thank you, Matt and Crystal, for giving them a new chapter filled with love.
🐾 Here’s to happy endings, and to every adoption that keeps our rescue family moving forward.
