Every Click Counts: Why Staying Connected Matters

ree

In rescue work, every act of kindness counts. But the same is true for staying connected online—especially on Facebook, where a simple like or share can make a huge difference.

Many folks don’t realize that Facebook doesn’t automatically show all our posts to everyone who follows our pages. The way it works is this: if no one interacts with a post, Facebook assumes it’s not important—and stops showing it to others. But if someone likes, comments on, or shares it, that tells Facebook, “This matters!” and it pushes the post out to more people.

Think of it like dropping a pebble into a pond. One click creates a ripple. Dozens of clicks create a wave.

Let’s use our upcoming Jingle Bells & Summer Sales Craft Festival as an example. It’s a fundraiser for Homeless to Home happening right here at The Woods Park & Pavilion.

When someone marks “Going” or “Interested” on the Facebook event page—even if they’re not 100% sure they can attend—it automatically shows their friends that they’re planning to go. Facebook sends out a little nudge: “Hey, your friend is interested in this event—maybe you should check it out, too.” And just like that, the word spreads.

But if no one interacts with the event page? It just… disappears into the noise. The truth is, so many of our public events fall short—not because the event isn’t great, but because not enough people even know it’s happening.

Our beautiful event venue, The Woods, is still a bit of a hidden gem. And no matter how much love and effort we pour in, we simply can’t succeed without help from the community to spread the word.

That’s why we’re asking—genuinely, and from the heart—please:

🔁 Share our posts

💬 Comment on updates

❤️ Like and react when you see something from us

📧 Forward our blog posts to a friend

📣 Tell someone about what we’re doing

Because this work? We cannot do it without you.

And the need? It never stops.

Every single comment. Every “Going” RSVP. Every shared flyer. Every new newsletter signup. It all creates ripples. And those ripples save lives.

You can find direct links to Homeless to Home and The Woods Facebook pages at the bottom of this newsletter. Let’s make those ripples together. 🐾❤️
