One Last Whisker Weekly

There are some goodbyes that arrive neatly, with time to prepare and the right words waiting patiently at the door.

This is not one of those goodbyes.

Effective immediately, I am no longer serving as the Operations Coordinator for The Woods Park & Pavilion. With that, this will also be my final issue of The Whisker Weekly.

I wanted to take a moment to say goodbye properly—not with a long explanation or a perfect closing chapter, but with gratitude.

During my time with The Woods, I had the opportunity to help build something from the ground up. I answered messages, scheduled tours, created contracts, organized events, managed rentals, designed graphics, wrote posts, built website pages, coordinated with vendors, welcomed renters, worked with Event Assistants, and did my best to help turn The Woods into a place where people could gather, celebrate, support rescue animals, and feel part of something meaningful.

It was never just a venue to me.

It was birthday parties and baby showers. Weddings and graduation parties. Food trucks in the parking lot. Vendors setting up tables with handmade work and hopeful smiles. Families walking the grounds and imagining their special day. Volunteers, sponsors, small businesses, photographers, renters, and community members all crossing paths in a place that had the potential to become something truly special.

And, at the heart of it all, there were always the animals.

The reason.

The mission.

The little faces behind every fundraiser, every event, every basket raffle, every flyer, every long day, and every late-night message.

That part mattered deeply to me.

I am grateful for every person who supported The Woods during my time here. Every renter who trusted me with their event. Every vendor who signed up for a market or festival. Every food truck that came out and donated a portion back to Homeless to Home. Every sponsor who gave what they could. Every volunteer who showed up. Every Event Assistant who stepped into a brand-new role and helped make events possible.

I am also grateful for every reader who opened The Whisker Weekly.

This newsletter became one of my favorite pieces of the work because it gave me the chance to do more than post announcements. It gave me the chance to tell stories. To highlight animals. To share updates. To make the work feel human. To remind people that rescue is not just numbers, cages, adoption fees, or event flyers.

It is hope.

It is second chances.

It is tired people still showing up because the animals need them.

It is community, even when things are hard.

As I step away, I want to thank everyone who made this role meaningful. I will miss the parts of this work that allowed me to create, connect, organize, and serve. I will miss the excitement of a new event idea coming together. I will miss seeing people rally around a cause. I will miss the version of The Woods I believed in and worked so hard to help build.
