For two decades, Charlie Jones has been the quiet backbone of Homeless to Home. If you’ve visited the sanctuary, chances are you’ve seen him — soft-spoken, steady, and surrounded by the cats he calls “my angels.”
Charlie’s fingerprints are everywhere at HTH and The Woods Park & Pavilion. He has mowed and trimmed the grounds, overseen the construction of our sanctuary expansion, purchased storage sheds and supplies out of his own pocket, hauled countless loads of litter and food, and managed every corner of the property. And he has never once accepted a dime. He even gave up his daily McDonald’s coffee just to put that money in our donation can.
Before becoming the heart of HTH, Charlie served his country as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. A decorated veteran, he earned both the Purple Heart and the Air Medal during the Vietnam era. His life has been one of quiet bravery — first on the battlefield, and then in the countless, compassionate ways he has cared for animals in need.
Now, it’s our turn to honor him.

Please join us for a Celebration for Charlie Jones:
📅 Sunday, October 5🕐 1:00–6:00 PM📍 The Woods Park & Pavilion
Together, we’ll celebrate Charlie’s 20 years of devotion to Homeless to Home and thank him for the immeasurable impact he has had on every cat, every visitor, and every corner of our sanctuary.
Charlie is family. His love has built this place, cared for its animals, and inspired us all. Let’s show him just how much he means to every one of us.
