Celebrating a Lifetime of Love, A Recap: Thank You, Charlie

ree

Last Saturday, friends, volunteers, and longtime supporters gathered at The Woods Park & Pavilion to celebrate a man whose kindness and dedication have shaped every corner of Homeless to Home Animal Rescue & Cat Sanctuary.

The afternoon was all about Charlie Jones — a quiet, humble hero who’s spent more than 20 years giving his time, strength, and heart to the animals he lovingly calls “my angels.”

There was laughter, hugs, and stories shared under the trees as guests enjoyed cake, conversation, cornhole, and crochet. It wasn’t a grand event, but it didn’t need to be. Like Charlie himself, it was simple, genuine, and full of heart.

Over the years, Charlie has done it all — mowing, trimming, hauling food and litter, repairing and building, maintaining the sanctuary, and lending a hand at The Woods. He’s even known to skip his morning McDonald’s coffee just to put a few more dollars into the donation can. Every act, no matter how small, has left a lasting mark on the rescue he loves.

Charlie’s generosity doesn’t stop at Homeless to Home. A proud veteran and Purple Heart recipient, his life has been one of service — to his country, his community, and the countless animals whose lives he’s touched.

As the sun set over The Woods that evening, one thing was clear: Charlie’s fingerprints are everywhere — in the sanctuary walls, in the laughter of volunteers, and in every cat that now has a home because of him.

Thank you, Charlie, for twenty years of devotion, compassion, and quiet strength. You’ve built more than just a sanctuary — you’ve built a legacy of love. two decades, Charlie Jones has been the quiet backbone of Homeless to Home. If you’ve visited the sanctuary, chances are you’ve seen him — soft-spoken, steady, and surrounded by “his angels.”
