This past week, something extraordinary happened behind the scenes at Homeless to Home. Thanks to a visit from the incredible team at 4 Leaf Rover, 41 cats received spay or neuter surgery, rabies vaccinations, and testing—all in a single day.
Led by Dr. Susan Burkhart, Dr. Gaulker, and the tireless facilitator Annie Carter, the mobile clinic ran like a well-oiled machine. The impact was immense—not just in the number of animals helped, but in the hope it renewed. For many of these cats, this care is a first step toward a healthier, safer future—and for the community, it’s a vital part of controlling overpopulation and improving the lives of homeless animals.

After their incredible effort, the team paused for a much-deserved break and lunch at The Woods, where we had the honor of hearing their stories—tales of missions to places like Saint Martin and the Turks and Caicos Islands, where they’ve fixed over 300 dogs in a single trip. Their work reaches corners of the world that don’t even have access to a veterinarian. It left us humbled, inspired, and deeply grateful to be part of their growing network.

Who Is 4 Leaf Rover?
4 Leaf Rover is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded after Dr. Burkhart’s eye-opening trip to the Caribbean in 2020, where she encountered the island dogs known as Potcakes—resilient mixed-breed dogs that face staggering challenges, including starvation, injury, and unchecked reproduction. What began as a mission to help those dogs has grown into a global movement to serve the animals most in need, both abroad and here at home.
Their mission includes:
Hosting spay and neuter clinics for homeless dogs and cats
Providing wellness and emergency care for animals in crisis
Supplying food, medicine, and basic necessities
Educating and equipping communities to build sustainable solutions
Helping animals find forever homes where they can finally thrive
How You Can Help
This partnership is just the beginning. Organizations like 4 Leaf Rover rely on generous supporters to fund these life-saving missions, from small-town shelters to isolated islands.
