A Christmas Eve Note from the Cats

Hello.
It is us.
The cats.
We have gathered together (mostly) to let you know that something important is happening tonight.

We can tell because there are sparkly things everywhere. The humans keep saying “don’t touch that” (we touched it). And there is a tree inside the building for reasons that remain unclear.
The humans say it is Christmas Eve.
We do not know exactly what that means, but we have noticed extra blankets, extra snuggles, and extra humans sitting down instead of rushing around. We approve.
Some of us are helping wrap presents. Some of us are sitting on the presents. This is also helping.
We heard a rumor about someone named Santa. We do not know him, but we assume he likes red, comes in through the ceiling, and may or may not be part cat.
If he visits tonight, we promise to be on our best behavior.
(We promise nothing, actually.)
What we do know is this: tonight feels warm. Not just the heaters — the feeling.
There was a time when some of us didn’t have nights like this. No soft beds. No jingling lights. No humans who learned our names.
But tonight, everyone has a spot. Everyone has a place to curl up. Everyone belongs somewhere.
So if you’re reading this on Christmas Eve, please know we are purring, we are comfy, and we are very loved.
And we hope you are too.
Love (and whiskers),
The Cats of Homeless to Home
