Six Kittens, a Closed Carrier, and a Second Chance

Last week, six tiny kittens were found left on the side of the road in a closed carrier. While leaving them that way was heartbreaking, their story could have ended much worse if not for a kind couple who stepped in to help.

When the couple brought the kittens to their local shelter, they were told to take them back and leave them where they were found. Horrified, they refused to give up—and instead drove two hours to bring the kittens safely to Homeless to Home. Thanks to their compassion, these little ones are now safe in our care.
Sadly, their story is not unusual. With shelters across Ohio and beyond overwhelmed and turning animals away, desperate situations like this are becoming more common. It’s a reminder that the need for foster homes, adoptions, TNR programs, and community support is greater than ever.
These six kittens are now part of our rescue family—but for every one that finds safety, countless others still wait for help. Together, we can do more: adopt, foster, donate, volunteer, and spread the word. Because no animal should be left behind on the roadside.
