A Brand New Look for The Whisker Weekly

If you’ve been wondering where The Whisker Weekly has been hiding… honestly? Life came at me fast.
Right after our Paws & Pumpkins Festival — which was incredible, chaotic, heart-filling, and exhausting in all the best ways — my body reminded me that I’m not a machine. That event took a lot out of me physically, and I needed time to recover. Once I finally got my feet back under me… I blinked and found myself deep in author mode for Book Two of my YA series, The Chronicles of Fate.
(Fun side note: there’s a ton of exciting new things happening with the series and on my author site— so if you love YA books, dystopian stories, soulmate twists, or just want to support an indie author, definitely check it out!)
Suddenly, a whole month had disappeared.
Time moves strangely when you’re sick… and even stranger when the writing brain switches on and the rest of the world stops existing.
But during that time, I did a lot of thinking about The Whisker Weekly — what it is, what it could become, and what it realistically takes out of me each week.
Here’s the truth:
I love writing The Whisker Weekly. I love sharing rescue stories, wellness tips, behind-the-scenes moments, community spotlights, and everything happening at Homeless to Home and The Woods.
But the newsletter itself?
It was a massive time investment. Hours of formatting, organizing, and stitching everything together into one giant email. And the bigger our events get, the busier our calendar becomes, the harder it is to sit down and build that huge newsletter in a single push.
So after reflection (and a few long nights staring at the ceiling), I decided it was time for a change — one that makes things easier for me and much more enjoyable for you.
Welcome to The Whisker Weekly, in Blog Form 🐾

Instead of one long newsletter full of every update at once, you’ll now receive email notifications about individual blog posts, each one focused on a single story, tip, spotlight, or announcement.
And for the pieces that used to appear in every issue — things like our donation wish list, Kroger Community Rewards info, or details on renting The Woods — those won’t vanish. They’ll simply live as their own easy-to-find posts under the “How Can I Help?” category, or in permanent sections of the website as we finish building it out. The site is still under construction, but we’re aiming to have everything fully operational by February 22, 2026 — just in time for Marion’s Bridal Expo, where The Woods will be making an appearance!
Here’s what this means for you:
You get shorter, easier-to-read updates
No more scrolling through one massive email.
Posts will go up one at a time
Sometimes every few days, sometimes once a week — depending on what’s happening.
It’s way easier to find old articles
The blog has categories, tags, and a search bar so you can quickly look up exactly what you want.
Sharing posts is simple
Want to send a rescue story to a friend? Print a care tip? Highlight a volunteer? One click — done.
Nothing gets lost
Every story now has its own home.
This shift keeps the spirit (and heart) of The Whisker Weekly alive while removing the pressure of building a giant all-in-one newsletter. It gives me the ability to write more often, more clearly, and without compromising my health.
Thank you for your patience, for sticking with us, and for continuing to love our animals, our volunteers, and our community as much as we do. Here’s to a fresh start — and many more whisker-filled stories ahead.
If you or someone you know would like to sign up for email notifications of new posts, please fill out The Whisker Weekly subscribe form found on our Contact page.

Don't be afraid to leave comments on the posts! We would love to hear your input, your stories, and answer your questions. It's super easy, and you don't have to do any signing up just to leave a comment, like almost any other site makes you do. (A breath of fresh air, I think!)
