Some cats command attention the second you walk into the room—others wait patiently, quietly hoping you’ll notice them too. This week, we want to shine a little extra light on two cats who are still waiting to be chosen: Cookie and Smokey.

Cookie: The Sweetest Kind of Wallflower

Cookie has been with us far too long—and not because she isn’t lovable. Quite the opposite. She’s a lap cat in every sense, soft and calm, the kind who doesn’t shout for affection but leans into it once she trusts you. Her gentle nature sometimes gets lost in the noise of busier adoption days, but she’s got so much love left to give.

She’s a slightly older adult, meaning she’s long past the curtain-climbing chaos of kittenhood. What she wants now is peace, snuggles, and a human to call her own. If you're looking for a calm companion to curl up with at the end of the day, Cookie may just be your perfect match.

Smokey: Our Rusty-Furred Snugglebug

Once a sleek black beauty, Smokey now wears his years like a badge of honor—his coat faded to a deep, warm rust in places, his movements slower but still full of grace. He’s a sweetheart through and through: quiet, affectionate, and always ready for a cozy nap beside someone he loves.

Smokey doesn’t ask for much. Just a soft place to rest, a human to love him, and the chance to finally have a home of his own. He’s been through a lot, but he still believes in second chances. So do we.
